Robert DrakefordRobert T. “Bobby” Drakeford | CEO

A Charlotte native, Bobby returned home to join the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)  as an Estate Tax Attorney upon graduating from the UNC- School of Law in 1991. His duties included the interpretation of legal documents for IRS regulation compliance and the valuation of real estate and closely held corporations. Bobby then joined the Trammell Crow Company as an analyst in 1995, where he developed The Lexington apartments and the Central Carolina’s Urban League office building. The Lexington was awarded Trammell Crow Residential Services Southeast Property of the Year Award.

Bobby founded The Drakeford Company in 2002 with an emphasis on affordable multi-family development. After completing a 276-unit apartment community in 2003, Bobby redirected the company’s focus to the for-sale, infill urban housing sector. He completed over a dozen projects in Charlotte's urban core.  Bobby adept at land assembly real estate brokerage.  
He identified all sites that TDC  has developed, including 22 parcels for the Midwood Central project. His most significant land assembly achievement was second top producing broker on the Bank of America Gateway 1M square foot mixed-use development in downtown Charlotte.

Bobby earned an MBA from Wake Forest University after receiving his BS in Accounting from Elon University.  He has been admitted to the N.C. Association of Certified Public Accountants (CPA) and the N.C. Bar Association. Both licenses were voluntarily placed on inactive status in 2007.  He holds an active N. C. Real Estate Broker’s license. Bobby has been a member of the Congress for New Urbanism (CNU), the Urban Land Institute and played an active role in numerous local political campaigns and civic organizations.  He is the proud father of three active children.
